First information up!

Welcome to Elk! The great moment has come: the first information is available on the new site. Currently only the news section is up, so all links will point to this file, but this will (hopefully) change soon.

The different sections should be pretty clear, I think. If you are interested in helping in development of Elk, you should visit the "Development" section. In the "Documentation" section, we will include the Documentation in HTML format. Don't panic. It will also be included in the distribution as nice to print postscript. In the "Downlaods" section, you'll find the distributions and CVS-snapshots. A CVS repository is currently not available! But we will provide diffs also, so that you don't have to download the whole archive again.

The "Introduction" section will present a short summary of what Elk is and how it was developed in the past. When you find a bug (which is currently very likely, since we have only access to Linux und FreeBSD, so testing is not really excessive), you really should visit the "Bugtracker" and file a bug report! In the past I made the experience, that people often complain "That bugged since version xx!", but never report, that there's a problem. So do yourself a favour and report bugs. Last but not least the "Support" section: it will contain a FAQ, some HOWTOs, the Do's and Don't's, a mailing list for users and (maybe) a support forum.
